One of the best things about being me and Petra (because there are so many!  :-D), is having the friends that we have. We are surrounded by incredibly talented musicians from all types of music. Little by little we are finding more photographers and artists as well, but then again no one parties like musicians.

This particular evening we had the chance to go see one of our favorite bands Mas Trueno play to a packed house at Dark Room (in my opinion some of the best sound is found in this little known club on the west side) and then afterward, we grabbed a taxi and shot over to The Lasalle Power Company where a queue a block long was waiting to get in. We were immediately taken to the front of the line and escorted in by Bong (commonly referred to as Matthew, but I think that name is just for family and girlfriends).

The night ended with 4 of us riding the the redline home with a few drinks and shots swimming in our heads and Bong spilling his opened bottle of beer on fellow commuters there with disgusted looks on their faces while Bong shouted his finer points of music entertainment to us from a mere 2 feet away in the uncomfortable silence of the train car.

All I could say with a smile was “Sorry, it’s his birthday today…”
